Abstinence educator, Dr. La Verne Tolbert, Ph.D. shares her experience of being on the board of Planned Parenthood in New York City, New York from 1975 to 1980 when death certificates were required for all abortions.

She reveals the genocidal underbelly of the country's largest abortion provider and urges her audience to increase their awareness of the situation. Her research (http://bit.ly/2nuTCEZ) on school-based abortion mills in public schools explains why "Why Planned Parenthood Targets the Inner-City".

BRIEF BACKGROUND BIO:

Dr. Tolbert is President of Teaching Like Jesus Ministries Inc. (http://teachinglikejesus.org), a Para-Church ministry equipping leaders in the local church. Her book, Teaching Like Jesus, is in 10th printing and is being used in churches, colleges, universities and seminaries throughout the United States.

Dr. Tolbert earned her Master of Arts and doctorate degrees from Biola University’s Graduate School of Theology. She is adjunct professor at Azusa Pacific University and Chair of the Society for Children's Spirituality: Christian Perspectives, a scholarly organization researching spiritual development in children. As an advocate for adoption, here her research focuses on the needs of children in the foster care system.

Since 1989, Dr. Tolbert has been an advocate to “help churches help children” promoting active church involvement in adoption and foster care. In its infancy stage, Tolbert partnered with One Church One Child and subsequently held Adoption Sundays at two mega-churches in Los Angeles.

In recognition of her efforts to place teenagers into permanent families, Mark Ridley-Thomas, Supervisor, Second District of the City of Los Angeles awarded Dr. Tolbert a Commendation for "promoting positive permanency for older youth in the foster care system." The award, in recognition of National Adoption Awareness Month (November 2010) was presented by Dr. Edwina Lewis during Open Your Heart Sunday, an adoption event held at Crenshaw Christian Center.
