Ball Starter

A ball starter or short starter is an instrument used to press the ball into the muzzle. The “short starter” is used to force the ball the first one fourth inch. Then, the “long starter” gets it further down the muzzle. The ramrod is then used to push the ball down to the bottom of the barrel.
