Sen. McCarthy was friends with the Kennedy's. They shared anti-communist sentiments. JFK wrote "Profiles In Courage" in lieu of the events transpiring in the early 1950s to highlight the necessary pluck one must have in saving the republic. He believe, as did Robert Kennedy, that Senator McCarthy was correct in ousting the dark insidious beast that now lurks openly in our government.
