On the Florida coast, striped mullets come close to shore to lay eggs
Millions of these mullets are very tightly stuck together and it looks like they are staining the water
Few beach people are aware of them
They get as close to the shore as they can because there are many predators in the deeper waters.
They should stay away from human swimmers near the shore
Now hunters from the Pacific have identified them
