Setting up iAVS sandponics with a twist: use straw underneath the sand, calling it STRAWPONICS?

I am using a large grow bag (30 inches in diameter) and a washing machine drain pan to catch the filtered water. After just a few rounds of water running, now the bath tub water looks like a compost tea :-)
