Motivating Children - The Montessori Way

When we reward / motivate children with stickers, stars or praises (Good job etc), they then get into the habit of getting external motivation. This is not the motivation we want children to develop.

Instead we want children to develop self-motivation. How can we help children develop self-motivation the Montessori way?
