Sadly, in addition to bias, and omitting newsworthy items to protect a political agenda, the "mainstream" media has resorted to blatantly lying in recent years. Possibly the most outrageous example is the CNN anchor reporting on "mostly peaceful protests" as building are being burnt in the background
