Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s Defense of Rep. Ilhan Omar’s Brazen Attack on America

This past Monday, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar posted a tweet accusing America and Israel of “unthinkable atrocities,” likening them to terrorist organizations like Hamas and the Taliban. After Omar published her tweet, Congresswoman Rashida Talib defended her, saying that freedom of speech and the benefit of the doubt doesn’t exist for Muslim women in Congress. However, House Speaker Pelosi and congressional leadership issued a statement disagreeing with the sentiment and encouraged Rep. Omar to clarify her words. But words are no longer enough at this point. Rep. Omar needs to be held accountable in Congress for this completely unwarranted, anti-American statement.
