Mary was a five-ton Asian elephant c. 1894– and was horribly executed on September 13, 1916 . The elephant performed in the Sparks World Famous Shows circus, and after killing a trainer in Kingsport, Tennessee, she was hanged in nearby Erwin, Tennessee,
