Oilfield Hydrotest Downhole Tool Animation - Mathews Machine

This video details how oilfield production pipe is tested in the hole. First the tool is assembled in the tubing and the slips are set to prevent downward travel. Then water is added to fill the test bars, set the rubber packers, and pressure test the stand of tubing. Pressure is then released and a new stand of pipe is added and run into the hole with the test tool still inside. An overshot is then sent dowhole to retrieve the tool and bring it back to the surface where the water hose can be plugged in again. The process is then repeated until all the joints of pipe have been tested.
