The Sanitary Surveillance recommends that water tanks be cleaned every six months. In times of heavy rain, the risk of accumulating dirt is even greater.

"When the water tank is dirty, periodic cleaning is not done, this water can cause gastrointestinal problems in the family that consumes the water: headaches, vomiting, diarrhea, cramps and often it was not thought that the cause was the dirty water tank”, explains the coordinator of Sanitary Surveillance Raquel Bitencourt.
