You may call me cynical if you like, but I would bet important body parts that was the exact same reaction Dietrich Bonhoeffer got when he stood up against the NAZI-compliant clergy of his day; when he saw the deadly lying forces that had taken control of the public square, when he saw the Christian Churches being turned into NAZI propaganda outlets, with the very Icons of the faith turned to NAZI symbols. Today they are much more sophisticated, the symbol less obvious but a thousand times more powerful to the unguarded psyche of the masses.
