The Aerowyn Tales begins with a modern-day story of a girl named Bellarose at Christmas time. When she enters a magical library, she becomes part of a fantasy world inside unpredictable fairy tale retellings. Each chronicle in this series has an unusual perspective through the eyes of villains and heroes from the stories of Beauty and the Beast, The Frog Prince, Peter Pan, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Villain's backstories will be revealed with chances at redemption for each anti-hero.

Ultimately, all the tales will become connected by two characters: Bellarose and Aerowyn, the enchantress who casts all the curses. The last book of this trilogy will tie up loose ends, but some of the characters introduced in this first series will still have backstories to tell in The Aerowyn Tales II.
