Marines from the 6th Marine Regiment, crossing the Helmand River into dangerous Afghan territory. Lance Cpl. Jacob Lagoze brings us the story of brave Marines, fighting to ensure the safety of civilians in the area.
As of 2016, 2,386 U.S. military deaths in the War in Afghanistan. Three were killed in 2017. 1,837 of these deaths have been the result of hostile action. 20,049 American servicemembers have also been wounded in action during the war. In addition, there were 1,173 U.S. civilian contractor fatalities. Here is an example of one of the many battles they faced. For those who gave their all, R.I.P.
