Filefish (Monacanthidae) are a diverse family of tropical to subtropical tetraodontiform marine fish, which are also known as foolfish leatherjackets or shingles. They live in the Atlantic Pacific and Indian Oceans. Filefish are closely related to the triggerfish, pufferfish and trunkfish.
