Critical Theory vs Catholicism

The Catholic Church does not embrace the critical theory, but rather the Catholic Church carefully discerns things taking what is true and good within a culture and rejecting what is erroneous and evil. The Church saw value in Greek Wisdom…in the human, philosophical wisdom of men like Aristotle, Plato, and Socrates…all while rejecting Greek pagan idolatry. The Church discerned the truth and goodness present in pagan Rome’s legal tradition. Roman Law and Order helped the Church in many ways. The Church benefitted in taking her central place in Rome and spreading the Gospel via the many roads that connected the entire Roman Empire. The Church rejects the critical theory and the wholesale rejection of any culture. Rather, the Church carefully discerns, finding what is true and good, for her very Bridegroom and Founder is the Word Made Flesh…the very Author of all Truth and Reason. If there is anything true and good in a culture or institution or in our founding fathers and founding documents, then Christ the Truth is there and it belongs to the Church.
