DPX H.E.S.T. in D2 'Burnt' edge retention test

There's not alot of talk about "burnt" edges.

In my experience factory edges are far inferior to edges that are hand sharpened.

Is this just my amazing sharpening skills lol?

Or does the problem lie deeper in the steel?

I do a edge retention test on this DPX H.E.S.T. in D2 steel

Factory edge , then sharpened 3 times.
