It's Raining Viruses

We discuss that more than 800 million viruses are deposited per square meter above the planetary boundary layer and that everyday billions of viruses and millions of bacteria raining down from the upper planetary atmosphere to earth. 8% of the human genome are endogenous retroviruses and 50% of the human genome consists of transposons, which are virus like jumping genes.
