WHAT’S A LIVING SACRIFICE? / PB's Coffee Break

Dear Pastor Bob: The Bible talks about presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice.  Does this mean we should always be in a martyr mindset and seek out martyrdom to show we love Jesus more than anything?  And what does the Bible mean when it talks about “a living sacrifice”?  Sometimes I struggle with this. At any moment I could be killed for my faith and I need to be ready.  And if I am not ready, I would go to hell for rejecting Christ after being martyred.  Do you have any thoughts on this?  Should I be thinking about this constantly?
