How Israel defends itself from Palestinian rockets

More than 2000 rockets have been fired by Palestinian militant groups into Israel in the recent conflict at Gaza strip. This would have resulted in a huge loss for Israel but for the Iron Dome, a mobile all-weather air defense system, built by Israel which was funded and developed jointly with the US. The Iron Dome intercepted short-range rockets and artillery shells thereby saving many lives in Israel.
