When colonists arrived in the New World and made their home in Virginia, the land was a blessing, but the 95° summers with 90% humidity were a curse.
Just imagine you're a fourth generation colonist whose family was tough enough to settle a frontier; no air conditioning, electricity, and limited communication. And you're being deprived of liberty by a "macaroni" style guy in heels and a fancy wig on an island 5000 miles away. So by the time you get the news you have to pay taxes on paper, you're in full-on beast mode.
