What's It All About?

Parents throughout the globe flock to organized sports events involving their children that they have put into events. Why is there such an obsession with parents involving organized youth sports? What is really going on? What are the real motivations for parents getting their children involved in organized youth sports? What are they parents hoping to see at these sports events? Why do they get so into the games. Could it be that it is actually largely about them and not their children? What are the parents hoping for when they get their children involved in organized sports? What will that bring about?
It is my contention that it is largely about the parent's self worth. The behavior of many parents at these shows it's not really about their kids, it's about them.
