This is a close remake of a game I played on the Atari Jaguar back in the mid 90's. It is a graphically and visually stunning game that was made by someone coding while taking mushrooms - probably. Jeff Minter (The Yak!) of Llamasoft fame. If you haven't played any of his games, look it up and you will not be disappointed!
