The tight seam is due to pressure fitting cant do it if you miter, only if you cope. I guarantee you every home you walk into take a look at any wall longer than 16 ft and you'll see the cracked angled seam right away because a seam like that cant be pressure fitted and angles allow the seam to slip and slide with moisture changes even when glued, this seam pressure fitted with dowel and glue will never ever crack or show, guaranteed.
