"Diversity is our strength." It might as well have become America's new national motto, and its new constitution and national anthem too for good measure. That's how much you hear it and how fervently people believe it.

But is it actually true? Is diversity really our strength? Is it even the sort of thing you can build a working country or society out of? Or is it something else? Could it be a motto intended to divide and ultimately destroy the United States as we know it?
