On August 22, 2021, Antifa attacked a Patriot rally themed "Summer of Love." The rally had been relocated 10 miles out of downtown Portland to have a peaceful assembly.

Clashes began, according to witnesses, when a van drove into the parking lot nearly hitting people. Antifa attacked with explosives, projectiles, and bear spray.

Proud Boys defending the rally and attendees, fought back and drove Antifa out.
