For this painting, I wanted to explore contrasts. As your eye travels from background to foreground, you will notice a distinct contrast in detail, from blurry trees to very realistic apples and bucket. Notice also the distinct contrast in values, from the exaggerated red of the apples, to the muted greens and browns of their environment.
