Foreplay ~ Long Time by Boston

Boston is the Brainchild of Tom Scholz, a Genius, who believed deeply in Meditation, Focused Breathe work, the Protection of Animals and a Vegan Diet...oh, and making GREAT MUSIC! Scholz graduated MIT as an Engineer, but spent his time after graduation working at Polaroid during the day time to pay the bills, while working all through out the night in his basement apartment, to make Demos for all the brilliant songs that he wrote...Scholz invented and built much of the Recording equipment he used to create the Demos and played all the instruments on the songs...for 6 years, Scholz was turned down by every single American label as he tried to get a recording contract for his songs, until finally, in 1976, Epic Records, who had already turned down Scholz once, finally said that his song, More Than a Feeling, was a hit...

The first Boston album was mostly recorded in his basement studio, often using devices that he designed and invented. Scholz was an "UN-Rock n' Roll" figure who did not enjoy the limelight of being a performer, preferring to concentrate on music, production, and inventing new electronic equipment. He was committed, very much like Steely Dan and The Alan Parsons Project, to staying in the Recording Studio, for as long as it took, to make perfect albums, and did he ever...most of his songs, lyrically, focused upon the Vehicle of Meditation as a means of completing the Inner Journey to discover God...Scholz was, and has always been, a Virtuous Man...After the huge success of Boston, thru the Seventies and Eighties, Scholz dedicated much of his money and time to various charitable works, often beings hands on with these projects...in 1987, he established the charity, the DTS Charitable Foundation, which has a variety of missions, including, supporting animal protection, providing vegetarian resources, stopping world hunger, creating homeless shelters, food banks, animal rescues and sanctuaries, and advocating for children's rights. This foundation that he created and has spent tens of thousands of hours working with, has raised millions of dollars for all of these INCREDIBLE causes...

This song, Foreplay ~ Longtime, is an Allegory for getting serious about one's life once more, by disconnecting to Organized Society, and heading out on the Road, as the Prodigal Son, to re-discover God...Foreplay, which has been twisted into a "Sexual Term", Etymologically, refers to doing the Inner Mental work, necessary to be Ready, Willing and ABEL to Ascend to God, and this is what the song's lyrics continually reference to...it has been such a LONG TIME, since WE, Mankind, have been in alignment to God...and ALL the other songs on this Brilliant Debut album, relate to the same general theme...journeying within to re-discover God...
