Why Cryptocurrency is Better Money

Money has worth because for most people it represents something valuable. But in recent times, the links between most currencies and actual value have been cut. With the adoption of paper money as legal tender (and accounting entry money through fractional reserve banking), this means that the issuers of money are able print or loan money into existence at will as opposed to making new currency of value. This ongoing debasement has led to a persistent trend of inflation as the norm in most economies. In extreme cases, this process can even lead to hyperinflation, where the currency is literally not worth the paper it is printed on. When this happens good money drives out the bad money. Many cryptocurrencies fit that role of good money.
