At the time of its construction, the Argo was the largest DropShip ever constructed by far. The 100,000 ton Behemoth was only in a prototype stage as of 2658, and its design would not be finalized until 2782.
Also, yah know what? I'm still not convinced that Argo was always supposed to be like this. In my opinion, Boeing intended to make her a JumpShip, but changed idea halfway the construction and dropped the KF-drive to expand the cargo space so she could do her support job better.
