The Loneliest Road - Part 1

Filmed 06/07 to 06/08/2021: Since watching several Youtube videos about the Loneliest Road (US 50), I decided to make it part of our return route from California to Texas. Central Nevada is considered one of the most sparsely populated areas of the contiguous United States. Interstate 80 is to the north and carries most of the east/west traffic across the state. It was an important thoroughfare, however, ring the "Old West" period of the 1800's. The 1900mi Pony Express from St.Joseph, Missouri to Sacramento was short-lived endeavor, but it followed US 50 approximately through Nevada. One can imagine the horseman with a cloud of dust behind him, galloping across the sage-covered flats between mountain ranges.
