The Human Heart, Deceitful, Desperately Wicked

Ever been tempted and had a conversation with yourself weighing the pros and cons of the possible ramifications?

Jer. 17:9-10 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? 10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

That conversation you had was your heart trying to convince your Soul and Spirit to give in to the temptation.

The Human Heart is a master at manipulation, anything it has to do to satisfy the flesh.

Deut. 10:12-13 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, 13 To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

The Key words in this passage of scripture is “For your Good”. One reason Gods commands are put in place to protect you from your own heart.

Your heart will lead you down the wrong path every time.

Deu 11:26-28a Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;
27 A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day: 28a And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God...

People love to play the blame game, today people pull all the cards, race card, gender card, white card, black card, dumb card, plenty of cards in the deck of life?

However this passage of scripture tells us that we hold the key to blessings and cursing in our own hands?

Next time your hearts tries to convince you that wrong is right, black is white, or down is up, bump the temptation against Gods word as it will never lead you down the wrong path.

Jer 6:16a Thus saith the LORD, Stand at the crossroads, and look, and ask for the ancient path, where the good way is, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.
