Financial author John Rubino says many Americans are happily accepting authoritarianism. Under the cover of a pandemic, government overreach has gotten out of hand. But, others are waking up, though. The pandemic has forced Americans "to look at what kind of a people we've become," he says.

"I suspect we get a gigantic collapse," John says, "and in the chaos of that collapse, we have a conversation of what we want to rebuild from the rubble."
