During the past year and a half, we have all been required to submit to a mode of life thoroughly unlike any lifestyle that has touched our collective memory. Our society and culture were turned up side down and inside out in order to reduce our communities’ exposure to SARS-CoV-2. In spite of all the efforts to elude this virus, we still saw casualties of Covid-19 in higher numbers than I would have thought probable. After such strenuous efforts at masking, social distancing, and shut downs, I expected a much higher success rate. The results lead me to believe that the measures not only were ineffective, they were completely useless.

Furthermore, another set of casualties emerged in the aftermath of Covid-19 preventive measures. These casualties were in the ranks of those most vulnerable among us. Our children. While we allowed them to be isolated behind their masks in the name of protecting their health, we subjected their growing bodies to other aliments less easily cured than a virus.

Some of the diseases and health detriments induced by face masks are as follows: RSV, asthma, staff infections, allergies, migraines, MIES, cognitive decline, disorientation, light-headedness, sleep apnea syndrome, eye and sinus infections, anxiety, depression, even suicide. All of these maladies occurring in our schoolchildren and who is responsible for the occurrence?

The Michigan Health Department and all the school boards who have enforced masking. You. You are responsible for harming the well-being of these children. By mandating masks, you are medically liable for their compromised health. Not only are you liable but also morally obligated to alleviate their maladies.
