Gentleness: The Prodigal Son

We are human. We sometime make bad decisions. The story of the Prodigal Son is full of beautiful, rich imagery of the dark side of sin and the beautiful side of a wonderous, wise and gentle father.

1. The Seriousness of Sin
Luke 15:11-13

God is our father. When the Prodigal Son asked for his inheritance early it was like wishing his father was dead. When we follow the world we essentially are telling God that we don’t want or need Him. It is serious! Have you replaced God with idols?

2. Sins Inevitable Destination
Luke 15:14-16

Following our own idols inevitably leads to destruction. God wants us to turn away from trying to find joy in His stuff and instead find joy in Him.

3. A Gentle Fathers Response
Luke 15:17-24

The father welcomed home the Prodigal Son without judgement or condemnation. How much then will The Father welcome us?
