Police confirm two killed following crossbow standoff

Police have confirmed that at least two people have been killed in the Netherlands after witnesses claim a man began shooting at passers-by with a crossbow from the balcony of his apartment.

Footage from the scene shows a bare-chested man aiming the weapon at passers-by before a shot is heard in the background.

Police announced later in the morning that a third person was injured during the incident and a suspect had been arrested by officers at the scene. An investigation into the deaths has been launched.
