Did Trudeau call an election to cover up Winnipeg lab collab?; Biden admin doubles refugee cap

The snap election has served another purpose for Trudeau. Conservatives accused the prime minister of using the election to cover up the Winnipeg lab scandal. The snap election dissolved Parliament, and if anything that relieved the pressure on the Liberals to give the Winnipeg lab documents to Parliament. Canadian government scientist, Xiangguo Qiu, reportedly collaborated with a high-ranking PLA officer in China.

The Biden administration is pushing immigration reform from another front. The White House wants to double the number of refugees admitted to the United States to 125,000 a year starting on Oct. 1st. The State Department is currently set to consult with Homeland Security and Congress to lift the cap.
