Natalism

Natalism is from the Latin word for "birth" [natalis], and refers to a movement whereby people assert the dignity of human life and the importance of children and families. This movement runs counter to the current cosmopolitan movement of anti-population growth. Whence did the latter arise, and toward what goal is it striving?
