Introduction to Sheet Gasket Material

One the most often asked questions we get regarding sheet material, is what do I stock?

Well, many of us have come across applications where industry standards, in-house designations, SOPs, or validated procedures, etc., require a specific gasket, such as a spiral-wound or metal-wound, or a mandated gasket material.

And, of course, there are times where you simply “must” use a certain gasket material a manager or supervisor insists upon because, "that's the way we’ve always done it."

Putting all that aside, how do you choose the right material or combination of materials? And normally there is no ONE right material.
