Don't Misuse The Bible

2 Timothy 3:16-17 says that all scripture "is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness". Nowhere in the Bible says that scripture can or should be used or misused to coerce, control or remove liberty of conscience and one's right to choose.
Why then are many professed ministers of the Gospel taking this route?
