Debunking the false doctrine of soul sleep. Soul sleep is a false doctrine that denies people are in Heaven and Hell right now. Scripture clearly teaches that there are fallen angels in chains of darkness in Hell right now (2 Peter 2:4; Jude 1:6), and where were rebellious Israelites who dropped straight into Hell when God opened up the earth they stood on (Num. 16:30-33; Num. 26:9-10), and the men of Sodom are suffering the "vengeance of eternal fire" (Jude 1:7).
