Mother pig and piglets..🐖🐖🐖
When it comes to domestic animals, it's preferable to let nature run its course during and after delivery, with people only intervening when absolutely required. You may need to interfere in the situation of a mother pig and her piglets. Many of those piglets die in the wild. This is because it's not uncommon for mother pigs to accidently crush newborn piglets when giving birth to her litter. A 25% of all newborn piglets die before they reach the age of six weeks. That isn't to say their mothers didn't love them; it's just that the infants are tiny and the mothers are enormous. Crushing isn't restricted to major commercial breeds. If the infants aren't removed while the mother is still in labor, even pet potbellied pigs will crush some of their offspring.
