Note: The total combined energy used to mine Bitcoin is very small compared to all the other MUCH bigger industries in the world. So in addition to encouraging the use of renewable energy to mine Bitcoin, it would be far more effective to encourage all the big industries who are mostly NOT using renewable energy to massively improve their energy consumption issues. The big push to make Bitcoin mining more environmentally friendly is largely disingenuous in light of all the other much bigger and much more destructive energy consumers.
