In today's culture, people mock the idea of abstinence. If you spend five minutes watching television or reading through some of the lyrics to the nation's most popular songs, you will find that many actors and artists place little value on purity, and instead promote promiscuity. On today’s edition of Family Talk, the late Elisabeth Elliot emphasizes the value of purity, and explains why she has made it part of her life's mission to help other people see the beauty of God's design for sexuality.

About Today's Guest: Elisabeth Elliot
Elisabeth Elliot (1926-2015) was the wife of Jim Elliot, a missionary who was martyred while ministering to an unreached group of people in the Amazonian jungle of Ecuador. After her husband’s death, Elisabeth felt God calling her to minister to the very tribe who had killed him. She went on to become a well-known speaker and author of over 20 books, including "Passion and Purity," "Let Me Be a Woman," and "Shadow of the Almighty." For 13 years, she hosted her own radio program called "Gateway to Joy." Elisabeth passed away at the age of 88 and is survived by her third husband, Lars Gren, her daughter, Valarie Elliot Shephard, and many grandchildren.
