Many years ago the school systems across the country decided to model its own structure, around California. Hoping to create calmer, more peaceful atmospheres on campus, schools around California turned off their bell systems and let students figure out when class starts the old-fashioned way: by looking at a clock, err their phones.

At the same time the school dropped bells, it also shifted the start time to 9 a.m. and made other changes to create a “more relaxed, less stressful atmosphere. No not every school is like this, but the decline of our school system began and will end with concepts such as this. I know. Let me explain.
