Animal- Characteristics of the Wood Grasshopper.

Grasshoppers are insects measuring 45-55 mm (male) and 15-75 mm (female). The body consists of the head, chest / thorax and abdomen / abdomen. Wood locusts are yellowish brown, yellowish or green with dark blue hues especially on the wings. The hind wings are usually visible in flight and are red. Young individuals are usually pale green with dark streaks.

Wood locusts are widespread in southern Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. This species is a locust in timber forest areas and is often found in less densely populated forest to coastal areas. Wood locusts are scattered throughout DIY as herbivores.

Wooden grasshoppers are used as a source of animal protein, especially in Gunungkidul Regency, and even become icons for souvenirs typical of Gunungkidul and inspiration for batik patterns. On the other hand, this grasshopper becomes a pest in several plantation areas and production forests.
