In the middle stage of dementia, brain damage causes a person to have difficulty expressing thoughts and performing daily tasks. Those afflicted can be unable to recall things, become easily confused and angry. Communication becomes harder. They often lose track of time, are unable to follow conversations, complete sentences, and may have trouble understanding what others are saying. Mood and behavior changes—including aggressiveness, depression, paranoia, repeating actions or words, wandering, and incontinence are also common.
