With the development of computer technologies and the Internet, the program began to carry out distributed information processing on thousands of simple user computers. In popular culture, UFOs most often mean an unidentified flying object, the appearance of which is associated with the visit of intelligent beings to Earth. Many people, including officials and scientists, are skeptical about the possibility of these visits and are convinced that UFOs are an anomalous natural or aerospace phenomenon. In contrast, some former officials, military personnel and astronauts, after leaving the service, become public adherents of the alien origin of UFOs.
