Swimming with a Curious Humpback Whale Calf - Tonga

This whole dive consisted of this month old humpback calf playing with us. It was old enough to be spatially aware, and loved playing games of chicken. She approaches, holding eye contact with me, blinks, and then does a barrel roll between me and my buddy Karim. It was like a 1-3 thousand pound water puppy, but not one to be frightened of. The mom relaxed about 20 feet below, confident its young calf was safe and only learning from this interaction
