Cat 101: Nose Bleed in Cats

Nosebleeds, also known as epistaxis, is a disorder that causes blood or bloody discharge from the nose. Epistaxis can be a sign of a more serious medical disease, such as cancer or organ failure. Cat nosebleeds are unusual. A cat will bleed from the nose for one of two causes. It might have been subjected to physical trauma, or it could be the result of a medical or environmental condition. It is also often caused by sinus or respiratory infections, as well as nose or head traumas.
